Billing & Payment

Invoices are sent out to clients via email at mid-month and at the end of the month. Full payment is expected within 14 calendar days. Only electronic forms of payment are accepted. Please contact me for further details.

Special note for first-time clients:

• First-time clients are sent their invoice when I return the corrections for their first transcript, and payment is due within 7 calendar days. New jobs will not be accepted until this first invoice has been paid in full.

An up-charge may be applied, at my discretion, if the transcript requires a considerable amount of corrections and, therefore, extra time for me to complete. Up-charges start at $0.10/page above the base rate, but may be higher depending on the condition of the transcript.

If payment for an invoice is not received by the due date, a late fee of at least $10.00 will be applied, and no new jobs will be accepted during the period when a client has an outstanding balance due. To help clients pay their invoices on time and avoid late fees, at least one payment reminder will be sent via email ahead of the invoice due date. Frequent late payments, even if they are paid eventually, may lead to termination of our business relationship. If an invoice becomes more than 60 days past due, I will not hesitate to report the matter to your agency and/or state court reporting association.

Special Offers

Introductory Discount for First-Time Clients:

• All first-time clients receive 20% off their first transcript, up to 50 pages, as my way of saying thank you for trying my proofreading services. If the transcript happens to be greater than 50 pages, the remaining pages will be billed at the full base rate. Please note that I do not accept any amount of "test" pages that are to be proofed at no charge.

Referral Discount:

• If an existing client refers me to a colleague who then hires me to proofread for them, the existing client will receive 10% off their next transcript, once the new client has paid their invoice. This discount is good for 90 days and is limited to one time per calendar month.
