My Process

Here's how it will work when you send me a transcript to proofread!

The Nuts and Bolts
  • Send me your transcript as a PDF and tell me when you would like the corrections returned (a specific date and time of day would be greatly appreciated!)

  • I thoroughly and meticulously proofread the entire document, making annotations directly on the page using red text and yellow highlighting

  • I follow your preferences and your preferred punctuation guide

  • By or before the deadline you give me, I return only those pages that have annotations, unless you prefer to receive the entire document

That's pretty much all there is to it!

Important Notes
  • Please be sure to send me only an edited and scoped, turn-in-ready draft. (For a more detailed discussion about this, please see the Policies page.)

  • All new clients will be asked to complete a Reporter’s Preference Sheet prior to my starting work on the initial job. This will give me valuable information about how you like your writing to look so that I can give you a personalized experience.

  • In the event a deadline for a job should change, please let me know as soon as possible, and I will do my best to accommodate you. Be aware that the changing of deadlines may change the rate that you will be billed.

  • If you are sending a large job of 200 pages or more and it is needed back in 48 hours or less, I kindly request that you send it in smaller chunks as it is being scoped. I find that this helps streamline the process considerably, especially when there is a very tight deadline. I generally will bill for each “chunk” separately, according to the amount of time I am given to complete work on it.

  • If ever I am unavailable to proofread a job for you and you do not already have a backup proofreader, I would be happy to assist you with finding one.

For information about billing and payment, please see the Policies page.
